About the Artist
I first began learning the basics of sketching in 1995, and from there I became addicted to learning about art. I had never really looked at the world through the eyes of an artist, and I began to notice the colors, and shading of everything I saw. It changed my entire outlook about life. I began reading as much as I could on the subjects of art. The history of it is a study I still pursue. At first, I mostly worked in graphite, then colored pencil, then watercolors and oil pastels. I wanted more! The move to acrylics was a natural progression. I learned as much as I could by watching others, in person, and television, where ever I saw art, I picked up technique. I got bolder with each project, slowly developing my own style. The basic thought with each project is... its going to work itself out, so I have no fear of messing up. There is no right or wrong in art, if you like it thats good enough. I enjoy the freedom that art brings me. I also respect the opinions of others, but the fact is, art is a personal thing that you share with everyone. The earliest man was interested in art, its in our blood. The instinct is within the D.N.A. of every human, even if your art is just living your life. Art surrounds each of us everyday, it's the clothes we wear, the cars we drive, the homes we live in...Art is a part of everyone, that is one of my favorite aspects of art. I will continue to work on learning to create beauty, and how to appreciate it each and everyday. Life is art in itself. We are all a piece of art on the canvas of this life. I hope my artwork brings enjoyment, and instills a glimpse of the enjoyment that I get out of making it.
